Although each day on our adventure is unique, there are some common elements to a typical day.
After a hearty breakfast, we leave for the trail by 9AM. On most walking adventures we picnic at a park where our guides can spread the picnic out on tables and often on hiking adventures we carry lunch with us and picnic at a beautiful spot along the trail. After lunch we continue walking or hiking until mid or late afternoon. Often we stop at a cultural site along the way: a special lighthouse, fishing village or historic site. Most of our adventures include a boat or ferry cruise to explore an island, view whales and birds or raft up a tidal river.
We return to our inn in the late afternoon in time to freshen up for dinner. Dinners are generally between 6 to 7PM and are an opportunity to share the adventures of the day with your fellow travellers and guides.
Optional evening activities may include an opportunity to participate in the local culture at a concert, theatre, Ceilidh or an evening stroll through the village.
The itinerary of the trip may vary for many reasons such as weather, ferry schedules, tides and the special interests of the group.
The guides can usually accommodate the various hiking and walking needs and skills of the group although it is important to choose your adventure based on your abilities.
"Many of those in the group had been on prior trips (for some this was their 2nd, 3rd or 4th) and that fact speaks volumes to the calibre of your trips. Thank you.
I anticipate being a 'new' regular Scott Walker."
